Limon
Limon Colorado Hotels
| Limon originated as a work camp for railroad workers in 1888 as the Chicago and Rock Island Line came through on its way to Colorado Springs. Named after foreman John Limon, it was known as a hub city and today the important transportation highways I-70, US-24, US-40, and several state highways all intersect here. In 1990 a tornado ripped through Main Street of Limon, destroying the town hall, post office, newspaper, state patrol office, the bank, the grocery store, and most of the town's police cars. Only minor injuries were reported, however most businesses were destroyed and 117 families were homeless. |
