Nederland option Nederland Colorado Hotels option
Nederland is the Gateway to the Indian Peak Wilderness Area and the new James Peak Wilderness Area, and also hosts the annual Frozen Dead Guy Day each March. Historically Nederaldn was another mining town in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.

New Castle option New Castle Colorado Hotels option
Founded in 1883 as Grand Buttes, New Castle became a coal-mining mecca as high-grade coal was found. Unfortunately, the coal also produced high-grade methane gas, and repeated gas explosions in the mine killed many men; despite the mines being flooded with water, underground coal fires still burn in New Castle for over 100 years.

Niwot
Niwot was founded in 1875 as a railroad town along the Colorado Central Railroad's extension from Boulder to nearby Longmont. Local farmers and ranchers used the railroad to ship cattle and produce to Denver and Boulder. Today Niwot is a bedroom community for Boulder and expensive subdivisions dot the landscape...and the train don't stop there anymore.

Northglenn option Northglenn Colorado Hotels option
Northglenn is on the north side of the Denver metro area, and was founded in 1969. 23 miles from Denver International Airport, Northglenn has an extensive network of greenway recreational trails and parks.

Ouray option Ouray Colorado Hotels option
Founded in 1875 during the Colorado Gold Rush, Ouray is named after Chief Ouray of the Ute Indians, and had a quite colorful history. Today Ouray exists strictly based on tourism, located in one of the most spectacular areas of Colorado's Rocky Mountains.

Pagosa Springs was known for its hot springs even before the white man showed up. The army built Fort Lewis there in 1878, and within 10 years the civilian town supported a booming lumber industry and the county seat of Archuleta County. The Ute Indians called it Pagosah which meant healing waters in their language.
