Its rich mining history, Victorian construction, and the Durango-Silverton railroad make it a richly rewarding destination for tourists in Colorado. Royalty and nobles from Europe made Silverton a major stop on the West's tourist scene a century ago. The entire town, the Silver Queen of Colorado, is an historic district.
